1995 geo 1.6L slight surging on hills
1995 Geo Prizm 1.6L 3 speed auto. Car has 60,000 miles, and has a mild surging. It sort of feels as though I am being pulled up hills by a rope that loses slack slightly then goes taught again over and over.
It is NOT very severe, but I can definitely feel this sensation when going up hills under a load. Seems to be more severe before the car is at operating temperature.
I replaced the plugs, fuel pump and fuel filter, no difference. Checked the diagnosis under the hood and jumped TE1 and E1 and the check engine light brings up no codes, it just flashes steadily.
The transmission fluid is nice and red with no burning smell. I am a a loss what this could be. Thinking about putting some fuel injector cleaner in it, any ideas? It's pretty unsettling to me and I would love to solve this problem.
It is not a huge surge, just slight but noticeable.
