I own an MR2 and the corolla definitely has more room in the bay. There's no need to cut out anything in the MR2 for a 2GR swap.

That's why you stick with a 2GR. If you haven't driven a 2GR powered car, you'd be impress once you do.

MR2 bay is deeper too. I personally know someone who's attempting a 2GR swap into a 6th Gen Celica. It's a tall engine.

not everything is custom. some of the mounts can be used. the bell on the V6(3vf/1mz) is the same as a 5sf/3sg/3sgt so you could use some of the existing mounts, or even use mounts from a celica.

Would love to a 1MZ with a manual when my 4AFE finally gives out, granted its only at 172K right now so theres hopefully a lot of life left
my friend has a 1MZ equipped 99 camry with a Manual trans. granted 98% of them sold US side is auto equipped, his is a TRD model. i've seen a few 5 speed equiped Lexus with 1MZ. to me that would be where to get the trans.

and for those who are interested, check out MR ozone's build. he's swapping it into a 6th gen, but basically it's all relative.
