Car sluggish at first, then picks up ::::: added video ok , my name is mike, i just bought a 1994 toyota corolla, and it has 217,234 miles, and when i punch it it doggs out , but if i throttle slow it will drive ok, but i will have to pas some one someday, and today i was working on the rear brakes, and its about 23 degrees, and i started it and the belt squeels and it is slugish right away.....gets better as it warms up, but never goes away, i9 notice the aircleaner was clogged bad, so i got a new one, i also got new plugs but did not install yet, and oil and filter, did not install yet,,
i got this car for my wife, its all i could afford right now, i dont think its safe right now, and it did not do that when i test drove it, and the guy i got it from says it never did that for him......but i dont believe him........every one sells a car for a reason, and i was in a bind.......i cant afford any thing right now and i get payed every 2 weeks, and im still only got 1 car.....It sucks, this year hasa been bad for me.....sorry about bitching, i bought this car and i think something i miss and its not safe for my wife, unless i can figure this out.......
so doggs when you punch it or try to pass people then picks up i put new rear brakes new aircleaner i do have oil, filter and plugs, tomorrow if it dont snow i will install that is there a way to test map sensor, and the one near the aircleaner, i think its a temp sensor ???

Reason: add video
Squeeling belt can be a loose power steering or a/c belt, mine was loose recently. When I first purchased my corolla I had same thing sluggish taking off, found someone moved distributor back, just try and advance timing to see if it helps.
out in the snow...i really needed to get this car ready for my wife, so i did the plugs, and i wanted to do cap and rotor..............and snap, one screw, in the distributer now i got 2 vehicals that dont run........i dont know what to do now, i dont have a tiny drill bit like that.......i was going to do a vid of when you gas it up it wants to die.........but it wont happen today
does the ditributor come out if i losen the 2 screws?????????? then i could bing it to be drilled out
Try changing the fuel filter and putting some fuel system cleaner it it. Use a fuel system cleaner that contains the additive PEA. Those are techron concentrate plus, gumout regane, gumout high mileage, gumout all in one. Use 2 or 3 bottles in 2 or 3 consecutive tank-fulls.
Need to get fuel delivery out of the way, then go after other possibilities.

i just need to remove 1 broken screw, so remove 2 bolts, REMEMBER where th rotor is pointing,,,,, i assume, and pull.....then i can drill out screw
would the throttle positioning sensor cause whats happening......it starts, it runs, it drives......Till you punch it.........it stumbles all over......but it wont die ???? i got no code.......the cap and rotor do look old ........so im going to get thse 2 items,,,,,,,,and ill be back

Yes if you remove both screws distributor can be removed.
Just listened to your video. I do not agree with the auto parts store. In one case your slowly increasing fuel, its fine. In another your calling for fuel fast, its wants to stall. That is the symptom of a clogged fuel filter (among other things). Also, spraying carb cleaner down the intake wont do anything to clean injectors or fuel system, very little to clean the throttle body unless you physically use something to wipe deposits off. As a first step I would use a PEA fuel system cleaner in the gas as stated in a prior post. And physically clean the throttle body and IAC valve located on the TB. Then perhaps the fuel filter or pump.
But before the fuel filter or pump..I'm not clear on this, what is the CEL code lit on your dash again?

If cleaning the TB and IACV manually, adding fuel system cleaner doesn't resolve things...
Locate the MAP sensor located in the top of the the intake box behind the air filter. While cleaning the tip may help, usually a replacement is best. There is also a fuel pressure regulator located near the rail. Wouldn't hurt to replace that also.
