What am I getting into if I want to swap a 5 sp. tranny for my automatic? I'm thinking of the obvious---clutch pedal from junkyard AE92, linkage, shifter, shifter console, etc. Is there anything that would be easy to miss????

Peace.

I wouldn't bother with it though. If you ask me, I'd honestly tell you to sell your AE92 (four door?) and use the money and buy another used AE92 but with 5 speed. That'll just save you alot of money assuming that the 'replacement' 5 spd AE92 won't have any problems.

I've thought of doing the same thing before with my AE92 four door, but all my friends suggested I buy another mint AE92 with 5 spd. So that'll be the route to take.

I ended up with a AE86

well unlike my other two cohorts, if you're up for a challenge, go for it!

but you'll be wise to snatch a whole front clip form an ae92 to make it simpler and less frustrating for you. You'll have access to the tranny, gearbox, linkages and all the other sideorders that would otherwise make it a long, difficult but rewarding task.

Here's a thought, some of the jspec importers in town include the tranny and accessories.

Go buy yourself a jspec redhat 4AGE complete $500 to $700, then all you'll need is the linkage and pedals from a local wrecker.

If you have the rest of the parts, you might even be able to get them to do the install for probably under $500.

the brake pedal you need a standard break pedal, engine wire harness, computer for standard, starter relay goes on top of kick panel fuss box, it's easier to cut the hole for the clutch master from the inside under the dash, i just did the exact swap like a week ago a little tip it'll take a day to do. if you got other questions about it email me and ill let you know tazz1111@hotmail.com
