not exactly, I installed a Pioneer DEHP3600 in my 1993, no problems, and fairly straigtforward installation. You only need a wiring harness, which any car audio place or large electronics store should have. It's not as hard as it seems, and you can run the stock speakers if you don't intend to be blasting music at high volume levels. the unit wasn't very expensive either, but mine's a 600 series, and Pioneer's to the 800 series ones now. the 3800 is under $200 I think
