2002 Corolla P0171 trouble code

I got the code from a trip to Auto Zone the other day. The guy said the part would be $130 (I can't remember what the name of the part was), and that it would be easy for me to replace. I've got a Haynes Repair Manual, but I have no idea what I'm looking to replace in it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi, I had the same problem. It was my O2 sensor and that's around $150 just for the part. However, the P0171 can be anything listed bellow:

Air induction system

Injector blockage

Mass air flow sensor

Engine coolant temperature sensor

Fuel pressure

Gas leakage in exhaust system

Open or short in heated oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)
circuit

Heated oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)

Heated oxygen sensor heater (bank 1, sensor 1)

EFI relay

PCV valve and hose

PCV hose connection

ECM

I know this is an old thread but did you ever figure out what the problem was? Was it the maf sensor by chance?

Please look at those things before reviving old threads.
