Need to replace door handler on my 99' Corolla

Hi, I have a 99' Corolla and my problem is that the door handle from inside is broken. Shame on me that I pulled it too hard and I didn't realize it was made with such cheap plastic. I was told to go to either a junkyard or the Toyota dealership get the part replaced. My plan is to give the first shot to the junkyard, but I need to know how exactly I should take it apart carefully and properly so I won't damage it as I am going to take it out of another Corolla from a junkyard. What tools do I need to bring with me?

I have enclosed some pics of the current situation, shown as the following:

Thanks all!

You are going to remove the door panel and remove the parts you need from the inside.

You need;
  • a fairly robust phillips screwdriver,
  • a 10mm deep socket, shallow socket, ratchet and extension,
  • a door trim removal tool, (you can use a flat screwdriver at the wreckers but I wouldn't recommend it for your door).
  • a rag or special tool to remove the clip from the window crank.
The procedure
  • Work the rag in behind the window crank post to pop the clip off.
  • Remove the window crank.
  • Remove the phillips screws that hold the armrest and the door opener pocket in place.
  • Pop off the black plastic cover over the mirror mount on the inside corner of the window.
  • Use the door trim removal tool to work your way around the edge of the trim to free the clips. Pull up to disengage the trim panel at the top by the window and slide it up/off over the door lock button.
  • Unclip some rods
  • Use the 10mm sockets to remove the parts you need.
When you put it back together, DON'T over-tighten the 10mm bolts for fear of pulling the studs out of their moulded plastic sockets or stripping them. I put a drop of threadlocker blue on mine to make sure the nuts don't come loose.
