Question Buying 2001 Corolla

I am looking to buy 2001 corolla LE with 73k miles. the owner didnt have the timing belt changed. I plan to keep the car for not more than 6 months.

I would probably drive like 10K during that time. Do I have to change timing belt ? I have an assumption its due every 60K miles.

I dont want to incur 500$ to change timing belt right after buying it.

Please advise.

Your 2001 should have the 1ZZ engine and if so it has a timing chain not a timing belt.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the reply.

So if its timing chain it doesnt need to be replaced. right!?

Do you know anything BIG which is due in Corolla after 60k miles (apart from regular maintanence and tune-up)
