2002 CE Coolant Question

Is the orange factory coolant in my 2002 Corolla CE the same as GM Dexcool?

I have had several bad experiences with "Long Life - Extended Life Coolants"
Gummy stuck thermostats and some disgusting crud at the bottom of the radiator. This was always on used cars that may have had red or orange types mixed with green type coolants, before I bought them.

I am considering just doing a very through flush and replace the coolant with standard green Prestone 50/50 distilled water. Not only do I have 10 gallons of it on hand, but I always replace the coolant in all my cars every year. It's cheap engine insurance, just like 3000 mile oil changes. I also flush my brake systems every two years.

No, it is not the same as Dex-Cool (and is not compatible with Dex-Cool), and it is compatible with green coolant, so no damage will be done if switching to green coolant.
