Tire size for 2001 corolla LE

Hi
I have to change tires on my corolla LE 2001, what is the best tire size, i currently have 175/65-14
but the website shows 185/65-14

What is the original size put by toyota

so what is the best size, what is the difference between 175 and 185

I have about 150,000 miles on my corolla, any suggestions

I am thinking about having tires with 60,000 miles warranty

185/65R14 is the factory size, i had them on my car when i got it

they both suck, so picking either is a lose lose situation

are you looking to keep your car stock, because if so just go with the original equipment size

or are you looking to modify?

Difference between 175 and 185 is the treadwidth of the tire

Don't forget they both have the same profile aspect ratio (60, which means 60% of the width). Therefore, the 185 will have a taller tire wall than the 175 since they both have the same aspect ratio ( height: 185 x 60% > height: 175 x 60%).

Go with 195/60/14.
Check http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html for different tire size options and comparisons to stock.

Excuse me for threadjacking, but I'm in a similar situation as the OP, but mine's a 2001 CE, and basically I'm wondering what's a good brand of tire? Best value? Looking to drive mainly in the city, freeways, no highways really. Thanks, and my apologies to the OP.

It really depends:

Do you see heavy snow in your neck of the woods?

Do you have a dedicated set of winter tires?

What are you looking for in a tire; high performance grip or a smooth and quiet ride?

Not sure if this is addressed at me, but:

Nope no snow at all in my area.
No need for snow tires since this thing stays in the city and there aren't other many areas with snow around me.
As for tire, maybe a combination of both. If not, I put the grip a bit higher.

asking what tire is good is a super general question, maybe a little difficult to answer

go on tire rack, there ratings system seems to be rather accurate based on tires i have used, and checking there rating system

that and user reviews, there also very helpful, but can also be misleading, so use discretion when using them to base a decision off of
