Help with right turn noise/vibration during acceleration

Hi,

Recently I bought a 1998 Corolla. Manual transmission. When I make right turn and accelerating there is a growling noise (like the one from a leaking exhaust) and slight vibrations coming from the front (possibly right). I had it aligned and checked for tie rods/axles/bearings etc.. Everything is OK.
There is lots of noise and heavy vibrations when I drive off with right turn. The more the torque, the noisier. When I do not accelerate, there does not seem to be any noise. When I drive fast even a very slight right turn (while accelerating) seems to generate some noise although no vibrations could be felt.
I changed the wheels and noticed a slight bent on the inner side of the front right wheel. There is also a 2" long whole on the plastic that sits in-between the front right wheel and the engine compartment - looks like the 'wheel of the alternator belt ??' rubbed against that plastic, but not sure about last one.
Could it be that the engine is off-centered, or bad engine/transmission mounts... Any help will be appreciated.

Now I looked closer and looks like the whole in the inside fender is made by the metal wheel coming straight from the engine. There is about 2" (5cm) clearance between the two. I don't know if the engine could move that much while making a right turn...
I was told by a "mechanic" that probably a curb was hit with the right rim and the right axle could have pushed the engine/transmission a little to the left (to the right if you stay in front of the car). Maybe the right tire hit a bump and could have pushed the inside fender towards that metal wheel so a whole was made.

Hey my Haynes manual is getting a workout today: Manual Transmission
Knocking noise at low speeds:
-cv joints
-worn side gear shaft counterbore in differential case
knocking most pronounced when turning
-differential gear noise
clunk on acceleration or decelartion
-loose engine or transaxle mounts
-worn differential pinion shaft in case
-worn side gear shaft counterbore in differential case
-worn or damaged driveaxle inboard cv joings
clicking noise in turns
-worn or damaged outboard cv joint
vibration
-rough wheel bearing
-damaged driveaxle
-out of round tires
-tire out of balance
-worn cv joint

if a curb was nailed it could have definately damaged the differential and the cv joints as well as the tires, these would be something that a mechanic might miss just by poking around with a flashlight, good luck!

Thanks again for the help!
For those who followed the thread - broken lower engine mount and broken transmission mount. The engine is shifting sideways, the metal-to-metal contact with the frame makes the noise and vibration at higher torque.
The repair shop wanted to charge me $600 for the two mounts and labor separately. They don't work with custom parts, so I had to find another shop - $120 estimated charge for labor.
Now if someone can help me with a choice (or a part number) for the mounts and a place to buy them from.
