Celica parts working on Corolla

I was wondering if I could use some parts from celica GT since it is the same 1.8 VTT-i....like the head, ECU, or any other parts!

You sure can. The parts that are different are the throttle body, intake manifold, exhaust, and ecu. That gives it an extra 15 HP. It's not worth it to swap that stuff unless you get it cheap or free and install it yourself. Of course the exhaust wont fit, but a few people have done the TB and IM and I think the ecu. Check out vamp's car at darkravers.net I think.

Have to do some fooling around first - as not all of them are direct bolt-in/plug-in tupe of affair - but can be made to work. Don't expect an automatic gain from swapping in the parts. Other than the ideal - where you move the entire drivetrain from the Celica over the Corolla, including induction and exhaust system - you won't see 140HP at the crank on the Corolla.

But for shopping for parts - pulleys, cams, internals, etc. - they are mostly interchangeable. The intake and exhaust valves are different sizes though (larger on the Celica). That coupled with lighter reciprocating parts (different rods), revised ECM tune, and freer-flowing intake and exhaust is what adds up to 15HP gain.

You could get similar results running a good aftermarket intake/exhaust, cams, and either a standalone EMS or piggyback system. Could even get more gains, if the tune was well done.
