They damage is only the front end, doesnt extend even up to the doors, well a bit on drivers side. Hood, bumper, both front side panels and lights are a must.
Radiator is probably shot though i don't believe it did much more than that, The impact was right next to the actual bumper frame so that is probably ok.
Sadley i can't tell you have much engine damage there is though from the picture maybe not much. Front axel seems to be straigh though the drivers side tire and brake sytem may need to be replaced because some metal frame shot through the wheel well
Sadely i just droped it about 2 inches and replaced all of the lights and housings about 2 weeks ago. Planned on installing new speakers and maybe looking into a sub box tomarrow..guess thats not happening
It definitely looks totaled to me. Don't even bother fixing it.... it will never drive the same way again.
Corollas can be had anywhere, try using the "Advanced search" option on Autotrader. You'll come up with lots of results if you're willing to travel a bit for a new car.
good thing that you were wearing your seatbelt... that's why it's so important to always buckle up.

I almost had the same fate yesterday on the freeway. Sudden traffic stop just over a hill where we couldnt see it until too late. Trucker next to me almost jack kniffed while stopping, thankfully no one was hit but later on I drove back and saw someone flipped over at that very spot so someone didnt make the stop like we did sadly. Just happened too, no police or emt's around or even on the way. Bad friday for someone, hope they werent killed. That was one scary close call. I thought that trucker was going to hit everyone in front of him with me right there to see it, and to see myself getting hit from behind by another trucker who couldnt stop in time. Thankfully that didnt happen.
They'll probably give you around $5k for the loss and I bet you'll have a hard time finding one as nice, especially for that price but best wishes. I'd be bummed too.
glad you are ok. Hope you can find another 8th gen. If you put stuff into the car, I wonder if you can take it out before the insurance takes it to the auctions. People will buy your car, fix it, and try to sell it, that's why if you got some good parts in the car, take it out before the insurance guys gets rid of it.
grab a newer celica, they're going for pretty cheap in good shape now. i grabbed an 00 GTS auto loaded with leather and everything with 83K miles for $5900. if you get $5k from insurance i'm sure you could find a nice GT for a good price.
ya im going to the lot on monday to pull the stereo and speakers out.
Cars pretty durable, Most of the damage is just from direct contact with the impact. I've seen other cars where rather than a piece crumpling up, it gets shoved back and damages even more.
Oh wellz, theres a few 02's on sale around here for about 5kish. Just hoping i get a decent amount off of insurance
Oh wellz..got about 6K. Sadly the insurance company wouldn't allow me to take any parts off the car besides my stereo. Picking up a Dodge Neon SXT 2003 in the meantime (yaya i know crappy car) but theres nothing in the price range anywhere by me privatly or at dealerships.
Engine/Tranny in good condition only 56k on it. Interior is bland as heck but aftermarket speakers and ill replace it with my stereo. Body is lacking...some minor scratches as well as a crack in the bumper =/. Overall though besides the minor cosmetic damage.
Cold air Intake as well as Aftermarket rims/tires give it a partial boost. Much quicker off the line and response than my corolla..but a much worse overall track record..
Bummer. I looked at the neon before I bought the corolla and I wasnt impressed with it or the interior either. To me the seats were more uncomfortable than the corolla too. Bottom line you have something to get you where you need to go without having to hitch a ride from someone else so all is well.
