suspension problem

im not sure what i need, i recently changed my stock tires and rims on my 2001 corolla s, to 205/45R16 16" tires and rims. I now notice when i go over speed bumps and bumps in the road that my rear tires touch the car. also noticed that the tires touch the car when i put over 40lbs in the trunk.

i was looking at kyb shocks strut set on ebay would that fix my problem.

The problem may not be with your suspension. Have you look at the offset on your rims? Anything lower than 40 will make your wheels stick out more causing it to rub against the fender walls. I learned that the hard way when I first bought rims, now that I have TRD wheels, I no longer have that problem. FYI TRD wheels have like +44 offset. Oh yeah I have KYB strusts too and they are ok. but I got the TRD wheels before upgrading my suspension. I hope that helps.

The OEM rear springs are weak causing the rear end to sag so that may be a factor as well.

How wide are your wheels? Are you lowered?

If your wheels are rubbing your suspension, the only remedy is to get new ones with better fitment.

The rear has been lower than the front on mine and many others from day one because of the springs. Just be careful about "doing what youre told" at shops because they tend to "tell you" all kinds of things that arent really needed. The only time I'd do what I was told at a shop over what was suggested from people on this forum who have nothing to gain from helping me is if I knew for certain the shop was trustworthy.
