I say around $150-$200.
$300 is too much.

Depends on where you live at - I've been quoted about $500-$750 (I provide parts), $1200+ (they provide parts) here in the DC Metro area. Depends on what needs to be done - any additional parts needed.

Lots of DIY guides on struts/spring installs on this generation. You can rent the tools - no need to buy anything + learn a good bit in the process. The way the suspension is setup - near impossible to royally screw something up, short of forgetting to torque everything down of having the car fall down. Make a checklist, take pics before you start, have someone help you - save yourself some money too.

Yeah... crazy expensive in the DC area. Pick up a Haynes manual, rent some tools, and DIY. I replaced the front struts on my wife's corolla a few weeks ago and a friend who has never worked on cars before came by to "learn". He was shocked how easy it was.

When you replaced the front struts, did you also have to take off the strut mount? If so, it means replacing the strut mount, strut, and spring will have the same cost since all the parts have to be then out anyway?

thanks,
Gordon
