ok well i blew the 1zz-fe about a month ago. and i got ahold of a 94 corolla and was gonna try the swap into my 2000.. could it be done? if i use the wiring harness and ECU and custom Mounts
sure, if you never need to pass smog ever again and never try to sell the car to someone who needs to register it....not to mention less power and less mpg. and a few other issues like the gauges probably not working right anymore and some other systems which are dependant on the ecu not working.
local yards dont have any corollas. the nearest to me is in texas. but id have to pick it up. the car has been siting a month and i driving a damn minivan..lol but idk if its really worth the swap. or ill just part it out maybe
the worth for the swap is up to you. the rest of my car was in good working condition, and it kinda has a bit sentimental value to my family (long story behind it), so i decided to fix it.

i guess i should fix the car because it has a bodykit, painted CF hood and a TRD supercharger Kit in he garage waiting to be installed.. but i need to install forged internals and what not. so i can supercharge it then maybe turbo charge the supercharge engine
you can charge it with whatever you want and however many times you want as long as you got the stack in your pocket to back it up.
just throw this out there. twin-charge requires A LOT of other mods and tuning to make the engine perform properly which translate into A LOT of money out of your pocket.
it would be nice to see a twin-charged 8th gen though. i don't believe i've ever seen one.

Finding another used 8th Generation Corolla that's been well-maintained both mechanically and the interior kept clean and relatively unscathed can be a difficult prospect, even at the typical $5000 used price. Additionally, there's the hassle of hunting one down. (Especially in this economy when demand for owning a used fuel-efficient sedan has skyrocketed, as opposed to leasing a gas-guzzler SUV as in the past decade.) As long as the body and interior are in good shape, an engine swap makes sense to me. (Unless you're keen on having a "new" car, such as the Scion tC you mentioned, and assuming you have the money to afford that.)
There are several JDM 4AGE "BlackTop" 20-Valve engines with transmission and about 60k miles on them over at eBay Motors for about $1300 including shipping.
I've even seen threads explaining how to drop in a 9th Generation Corolla engine into the 8th Generation body. (Requires the 9th Gen ECU too, IIRC. Otherwise it mostly bolts up.)

but whats usually involved in dropping a 4AGE+Tranny into a 2000 corolla.. ie harness,ECU,Mounts,Axles?
^^^ Pretty much. Need to fabricate mounts, grab the wiring harness and modify where appropriate to splice into the existing harness (unless you want to move all the gauges and whatnot over from the donor car - assuming you have acess to it), may need new axles - 7th gen and 8th gen a pretty close, intake and exhaust are flipped around (4AGE has intake close the firewall, exhaust up front), some accessories may not work - I've seen a couple 4AGE swaps into 8th gen Corollas that dropped P/S and A/C for clearance issue and/or cost issues.
Also remember that the JDM market used the 4AGE in our "8th generation" chassis - that makes the swap "doable" in our 8th gen. Though, if you factor in all the extra work needed to make the 4AGE fit - you could have just bought a 1ZZ-FE for a few to several hundred dollars more and save yourself all the headaches in the process.
^^^ Silvertops and Blacktops have been "over-rated" a bit with their published numbers. They do make a little more power than the 1ZZ-FE, but not by much. Silvertop is probably more like 135-140HP stock - by friend had a swapped Silvertop in his AE92 - dyno'd around 117WHP stock on a Dynojet.
That said, being an A-series engine and the preferred G-head - coupled with a huge aftermarket base, lots of bolts ons available. Doesn't mean the 1ZZ-FE has no support - the market is slowly turning out decent bolt-ons and people are starting to show decent gains on the 1ZZ-FE.
