I'm looking into buying a new Cold Air Intake, don't have the time or patience to have one made, this seems like a good one, what do you guys think? If it's any good will moving the battery to the trunk do any good? what benefit can relocating the battery bring me ?
What seems like a good one? And putting a CAI on this car is pretty much impossible since no one is making them (well one did it went under) and those for the 03+ wont work (im not for sure but handful of people on here say so). I dont see any point of moving the battery to the trunk. There probably is but I dont know what is is.

You can buy a 2000 mini cooper K&N air intake kit, reverse the piping and it'll look like the injen intake for the corolla S. The only fabrication you have to do is drill a hole for the sensor. all the mounting location and bolts will work as well with a little creativity. I can post some pics if you want to see mine.
Macktastic- in some of the other forums on CAI vs SRI the info leads to the fact that the temp diff isn't enough to be significant from a CAI to SRI (when you're in pretty constant motion); the biggest difference apparently has to do with volumetric displacement due to the fact that the CAI has a greater ability at lower RPM's to create a vacuum in the intake which apparently helps to feed the engine in a way that creates more power in the lower end (due to air rushing in more quickly maybe ).
SRI doesn't have the length so it relies on the ability to suck in more air more quickly at the top-end of the RPM range.
hey i'm new to this i was just woundering if there is any other place you can put a CAI on the corolla because where i live in new brunswick we have alot of water on the roads when it rains.

Actually, it's on one of the forums hummerh20 here started.
lotta good info if you can get the technicals of it.
Why couldn't you do this?: Install an intercooler behind the lower grill, cut a hole in the factory airbox and pipe it to the drivers-side end of the intercooler, and leave the other end open?
You'd be drawing clean air from outside the engine compartment and cooling it even further as the air blows through the IC as you move forward. Why wouldn't that work?
