Painted emblems?

Anybody painted there emblems?
I tried bebadging my trunk Toyota emblem but there is really bad adhesive that can only come off with sand paper. So before I put the emblem back on I was thinking of painting it black or gold.
Either that or buying like the JDM emblems and put that on, but I don't think that it would work because of the grove in the trunk.

use adhesive remover or some type of goo gone stuff. its a pain in the ass to get the adhesive off, but it does come off. then wax the area.

Heat the area with a heat gun to make the adhesive more flexible and carefully use dental floss or a fine single blade scraper on an angle.

3M general purpose aerosol adhesive remover also works great if you don't want to go through with all that trouble.

Really so that crap can come off?
But it's like hard as glue or something, it still can some of with the afore mentioned methods?

I did this exact thing with dental floss it worked like a charm just saw the dental floss back and forth very slowly and you'll get great results
