Since my car is burning oil, i want to know what is the easiest/ cheapest engine to swap into my car, i was at jdm earlier today and he said he can install a honda h22 for 2500 or a b16 for 1800, thats including tranny and all, there are also some 4age celica engines. Or should i just sell the car and buy a new car.

Wait, really? Some Honda engines will bolt up inside the 8th Gen?
Forgive my ignorance if that's "common knowledge". I'm assuming that Honda and Toyota don't coordinate, unless it's specifically for a shared platform / rebadging (ala the 8th Gen and the Geo Prizm). And from glancing at other engine swaps, even within the Toyota brand, it seemed like there's a lot more work and fabrication involved -- that engines aren't just "plug-and-play" swappable.
I mean, what about the ECM? Wouldn't you have to install a Honda one of those too?
More on-topic: Would that mean replacing with pistons that are the "proper" size and don't rely on oversized rings (which I'm lead to believe is the cause of the oil burning in the first place)?
