I think I've picked my wheels- Your thoughts before I purchase?

Take a look at these:

They are painted silver, 15"x6.5" and have optional offsets of +35 or +40 and I'm thinking about either 205/50/15 all-seasons or 195/55/15's. These are for my white '01 rolla s which is not lowered nor do I want anything flashy.

So, first of all, what do you guys think of the rim? Most importantly, what offset should I go for, +35 or +40? Finally, Preferred/recommended tire size?

Or should I change my thinking, go for different style, color/finish, 16", 7" wide, ect?

is that the actual picture?

unless you did a conversion, our corollas use 4-lug hub, and the picture shows a 5-lug rim

Shoot, I figured someone would catch that! No its not the exact picture. They come with 4x100 lug pattern. No worries there..

Good choice for a Corolla. Borbet quality is top notch! I had the same Rim on my Camry at one time, same size, 40 offset! I wish I'd went with 16's or even 17's as Hummer suggested. Here a pic!

They have a clean/classic look to them, but I'd be worried about how much they weigh. From my experience, Borbets are usually on the heavy side.

If you start adding more rotational mass, the car is going to feel more sluggish and your mpg may even go down slightly.

If you're ordering them from tirerack, they probably have the weights listed next to the wheel before you add them to your cart.

205 tires with +35 offset wheels will rub unless you dial in some negative camber and roll your rear fenders.

+40 is safe.

Borbet used to have a silver 6 spoke wheel that looked great too. I don't know if they still do or not but you can check if you want. If you're going with 15" then consider 205/50/15 tire size. 205 would look better than 195 I believe and provide a little more grip.

Ok thanks. So if I was to get a set of rims and I take it to the tire place, do I need to know what kind of offset I need, or can I just tell them that I don't want any rubbing, and they'll take care of it?

I don't understand your question. The offset is determined by the wheels you buy. Tires don't affect offset. You can't change the offset once you buy a set of wheels (unless you want to get spacers, but let's not get into that).

You should buy a set of wheels with the proper offset to begin with. Any decent wheel retailer will know the correct offset and size wheel for your car. Give them a call. Personally, I've always used TireRack to shop for my wheels and tires. Though sometimes I buy used wheels, but that requires research ... offset, weight, brake clearance, etc...
