I installed some new alpine type-s in my 2000 Toyota Corolla VE. 2 days later my radio would turn on but there was no audio coming out of any speakers. Then i replaced my radio with a new one thinking that this one was messed up so i cut my factory harness and saw a few sparks...then i noticed that my battery was still connected, so i disconnected it and with the feeling of knowing that some damage was done.
Here's my problem: now i connect the new radio and it wouldn't turn on so now idk what to do cuz my buzzer that goes on when the door should be open does'nt come on, the lights indicating that my door is open or not does'nt come on, nor my clock.
What are relays and fuses i can check and what should i do
What else is not working? Did you check the cigarette lighter, dome lamp, head lamps, etc? Start by checking each fuse in the fuse block by the driver's side kickpanel. Will take some time, but no telling what fuse blew out for certain - need to check them all to be safe. Then look over the fuses under the hood of the car - they hold the larger fuses that might have been popped by the radio work.

cig lighter works, as well as dome and headlights....thats why i'm confused
Cigarette lighter outlet still working and the dome is throwing me off too. I'm hoping that you didn't burn through any wires (wire that is broken in the middle) when it shorted on you. That would be a nightmare to find.
To help you out - you need to check the fuses and check all operating aspects, to see what is and what is not working. Do all the lights come on as expected (check dimmer control, head lights, tail lights, parking light, reverse lamps, high-beam indicator on dash, etc.) When you turn the key to ON, before you crank the starter - do all the indicator lamps come on the dash (its power on self-test, so to speak).
Double check the DOME and CIG fuse (both 15A, just to be sure). The clock gets juice from the 15A CIG, DOME, and TAIL fuses. Might want check the GUAGE fuse (10A) just in case as well.
Do you have a multimeter handy? Check all chassis grounds that you can find (negative battery terminal to chassis, etc.) Check other stuff for operation - you mentioned that the key buzzer, clock, and door indicators are not working. Key buzzer is tied to the 10A GAUGE and 15A DOME, clock shares power with the cigarette outlet - tied to CIG, DOME, TAIL (all 15A). Door indicators are tied to the 10A GAUGE fuse.
All of them run through the integration relay (the big block that holds all the interior fuses and relays - basically it is a big wiring junction, tie point). If an internal junction is blown - you are basically SOL - easier to just replace the junction block.
