1zzfe engine?

I was curious what the engineering differences were between the 1zz-fe and the newer 2zz-ge engines were? or, more specifically, if it'd be "easy" to drop a 2zz-ge engine in a 98. i don't need it right now, but i think when i do need it, it'd be nice to know if i could drop one in with relatively minimal work.

the boost in hp and mpg would be nice.

Not very easy. From what I have read, the tranny, ecu, axles, and many other parts have to be replaced. Would probably need a new clutch for all that extra power, as well. I think the easiest engine upgrade to do would be a 4AGE engine.

1ZZ to 2ZZ has been done, yeah it's not cheap to do as mentioned due to all the differences and of course the price of the 2ZZGE with transmission is not cheap.
