Under the hood!!!

So when I was at work today my friend came by, we had a bite to eat and he popped a question that had me speechless. " SOOOO what mods have you done to your car?" To be honest performance parts for a 2001-2002 corolla are quite scarce. My question to everyone who owns a corolla particularly 2001/2002 models people with 1998-2000 feel free to post what mods have you done to your corolla?

I wouldn't say that parts are scarce at all.

The 8th gen shares the same suspension as the 7th gen, so there are plenty of options out there as far as suspension upgrades go. The only limit really is your budget.

EDIT: With respect to performance mods, there aren't many available because the 1ZZ-FE engine is tuned for economy (unlike a lot of high-revving I4 Honda motors), and doesn't respond well to breather mods. You can still go ahead and install the standard intake/header/exhaust, but even that will only net you around 5-10 hp tops. That's minimal at best so I would not bother with it. The only viable solution would be to go with a custom turbo kit or get a 2ZZ-GE engine swap but those options cost major $$$$.

I looked into the supercharger and that is a plus but I'm a Naturally aspirated kind of guy not to big in the induction performance parts even if I was I would have to consider doing a transmission conversion since I drive an automatic. Those parts don't work to well on automatics.

Call me the strange newbie tuner, but I'm not all about squeezing alot of horsepower. I personally like to find that balance fast/fun/economical. I've recently replaced my custom intake back to the stock air box and just put in a drop in K&N filter as it seems to perform much better. I'm planning to redo the entire exhaust system since the previous person who owned my car removed the resonator and it just sounds horrid, I was taught that increasing the pipe size would play a role in fuel consumption, so I wanna show some respect to my car and give it what I believe it deserves.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this to, My goal for horsepower to achieve is 140-160HP increase from stock.

You will never achieve those numbers on an automatic Corolla if you plan on going the naturally aspirated route.
