Unhappy Kills When Put into D

I have a 2000 Corolla 1.8 L AT, 135k miles. The check engine light came on last week, I did some research as to why, and didn't find much. I reset the cars computer and the light went away and has not returned. Now (a week later) when I move from park to drive, the car dies. After it dies I can move it back into park, start the car, and move to drive with no problems. Thoughts?

Do you know the code was?

I'm hoping that you did not erase it without pulling the code first - that could potentially be a very bad thing.

At this point, could be any number of things - from power to the entire electrical system, ignition, to fuel injection, various sensors, possible vacuum leaks, issue with EVAP, issues with emissions, bad ECM, etc. Could be engine related, could be transaxle related, hard to say - without additional information we're not going to be point you in the right direction.
