Fuel System Upgrade

What goes into a fuel system upgrade? Walbro fuel pumps seem popular.

Has anyone here done a complete fuel system upgrade (not for turbo or supercharged applications; just to upgrade over stock and get a little more performance without spending >$1000) and seen a noticeable difference?

I've got ~150k miles on my 'rolla and am debating if a fuel system upgrade is worth the cost and effort on this car or if I should wait for the next Toyota I get...

Would this even be worth it on a non-boosted car? Is it likely I'd gain much by doing this?

Other than fuel pump, injectors, and fuel lines is there anything else that should go into this? What size injectors are stock and what are recommended?

I've seen a lot of mention of injectors with 400+cc capability; is this only wise on boosted applications?

Thanks in advance!

not really worth the upgrade unless you need the extra fuel, for like being boosted. i would put the money twards something else. like a full cat back exhaust or maybe swap to a 5 speed if your not one all ready.

I was looking at dual exhaust sytem. I can't find a 4-2 manifold though, so I'd assume it'd have to be a 'fake' dual exhaust.

Know anywhere local I should look seeing as I'm just south of you?

And no, haven't done transmission swap, heard that's pretty involved and usually not advised because it gets expensive. I'm assuming you're talking about getting one from a Celica or MRS that's on the 1zz models?

Nothing much to gain except causing your fuel economy to go down the toilet.

bluegrass muffler on shelbyville rd in middletown.

as for the trans swap it can be cheap if you know where to look. i found my c60 at a hobby lobby meet on night about a year ago. i got it for 200 cus the guy was an idiot. but little did i know it had problems, so now i need a new one. but i swapped in the 6 speed for around 500 total. but i traded parts and what not with many people. to do it right with a good trans (5 speed) it should only cost a few hundred. check louisville.craigslist.org there were a few people parting out 7th gen celica gt's one was a 5 speed. i would see how much they want for the whole swap.

hell you should come out and meet up sometime. i got a bunch of friends in bardstown.

thats really all dependant on how you drive and state of tune. i my self even with the ultra close ratios of the c60 get about 31-35 mpg average. which is pretty good if you ask me. it will get better once i get my megasquirt on and get rid of the crappy factory tune.. they run soo rich stock. lol
