4a-fe swap in 8th gen corolla

I want to swap the 1.6l 4a-fe into a 1.8l 1zz-fe. I have plenty of engine rebuilding and metal fabrication work under my belt and is there any reason this won't work? I looked on autozone's website and the axles are the same so that's the most important part. The auto transmission is still good in my corolla so i want to keep it. Will everything bolt up/line up? different bell housings? different torque converters? I got this corolla for free and i can have the entire swap(engine/ecu/harness) for around 200 bucks.

well it would be downgrading and adding weight. unless your swapping to a 20v 4age it is not worth it.

here read this tech article on the developement of the 1zzfe and you will see why.

Check with your local (State) laws about emissions testing & swapping in an older engine. Some states will only let you swap in an engine that is the same age as the car or newer.
