I know you would have to change the wiring inside the car. The engine would fit into the compartment but have to have custom mounting brackets made IIRC.

Dude just do it!!!!!! Find out info and keep the prize in sight. Don't let people talk you out of it.
Please do, and document the entire process very thoroughly. In several years when my 1ZZ-FE finally hits 300,000 miles and starts wearing out, I'd love to drop a 3SGE in to replace it.
unless it says BEAMS after it i wouldnt waste my time.(go big or go home)
The beams 3sge is an amazing engine but as it was brought to my attention about this very engine, is you'll have to think about part availability for this engine. YOu have to take into account getting parts shout a part need replacing such as gasket, a hose, ect. Also some things will have to get custom made to fit.
I think other 3sge besides the beams version will be good enough for a corolla. These engines have amazing potential. Used in rally cars showing durability and in touring car showing speed. The turbo version was actually used in touring Supras instead of the car's 2jz motor.

That's the key: Not just power/speed, but reliability we expect from a Toyota car (assuming a swap is done well).
That would be awesome, I mean the corolla is already a road legal race car, putting even more power and more torque, not to mention I bet the swap would be super cheap and easy.
haha

I wouldn't say really cheap but you'll get alot of power out of what you are paying for. I just got a chance to sample a 7th gen with a black top 4ag and man that car has fucken power, but power and torque band, really smooth. The about 200hp and the light weight of the car is a winning combo. And the 3sge is even more powerful, so you'll be fast.

LOL
Did you not sense the sarcasm in his post?
But glad to hear that you got a chance to ride in a 4A-GE 20V powered car, must have been a blast to hear those ITBs singing at redline!

No I didn't actually. haha. But no I the car I drove didn't have itb's. It was pretty much left stock except for intake, headers and a hi-flow cat. It even has working AC and it wouldn't look anything special to the untrained eye. But fomr 3 to 7 grand you still hear it screaming. Man, you get a HUGE smile on your face after.
By the way do the 3sge swap! Too much people get talked out of doing things and then those people move on to HOndas or something.

it had to have itbs or it was not a 20v. they have them stock, just there inside a sheet metal housing so it can use an air box. i had a friend with a silvertop in a aw11 mr2. it was pretty quick. and fun.
i think a 3sge is a decent swap, but i would go full out for a 3sgte. i mean if your going to do it, then do it right. or dont do it at all.
