Question Clutch Questions

I'm going to need to replace the clutch in my 2002 5-speed in the near future, but know little about varying brands and features (e.g. materials used, "racing" parts, etc.).

I buy most of my parts from a nearby murray's or autozone, so I hopped on the their sites and found clutch replacement kits for between $120 and $300. I am a pretty casual driver and on a college budget, but I like to put good parts in my car that I know will go the distance.

I'd like to hear some people thoughts and knowledge on what to look for when selecting a clutch replacement (clutch disk, pressure place, throwout berring). Any advice on common problems encountered and things to look out for during such a replacement is also greately appreciated.

I think this would be a pretty good question you should ask to the workers at auto zone. They would be able to give you what you need based on your specific needs. I would also see how much a factory replacement would be compared to something bought from auto zone.

Thanks for the advice. I usually go to a Murray's cause it's closer, and last time I asked them for advice of this sort they suggested searching forums. I'll see if they guys at AutoZone are a bit more knowledgeable.
