2000 Corolla Pinstripe Removal

On my 2000 Corolla, I have the factory gold pinstripes down each side of the car. It looks like this:

I tried removing a small amount of it towards the rear of the car, but when I peeled it off and got some of the goo off it seemed to be a much brighter black than the paint outside of the pinstripe. Will it stay like this once I get all of the goo off and wash and wax the car?

possibly, the paints prolly faded. If you have a spot uncovered just wash and wax that area and see if the difference is still noticable. If it is still noticable i would stop peeling it off.

can also just remove it cause at the end it will still look cleaner then having it on then what you do if you notice uneven paint is you get this product that is made by megauiers (not sure how to spell that) called ultimate compound my friend who is a detailing pro says it works wonder for taking uneven paint and making it as even as possible for when for example people take off their emblems or pinstripe.

of course wash and wax before and then wash and wax after.

another thing when removing the pinstripe use a hair dryer to make the glue loose and easier to take off and easier to clean off, use rubbing alcohol to wipe off the remainder of the goo left behind and some rubbing compound if you lyk. I used rubbing alcohol and wash n wax afterwards then ultimate compound then another wash and wax.

wow long first post lol

Thanks for the detailed response. I will get a bottle of the ultimate compound, and use rubbing alcohol on the spot I peeled off and see what I can do.

WD40 will work better at removing the glue than alchohol.

but wd40 (kerosene) can also stain your paint. goo gone or just light machine oil will work as well. so would bug and tar remover.

Sure if you leave it on there it could but it's fine if washed off and waxed afterward.
