Another Light Question

Hey Guys,

As you have probably seen my last post was about Krypton's from Luminics. I am really debating whether to go with halogens though or HIDs.

I found a kit here, BiXenon and fairly priced I would say:
http://www.nlmotoring.com/ONEX-HID-X...nex-hid-h4.htm

My questions are
1. Would it be worth it to upgrade or to stay at the halogen level?
2. I've been hearing a lot about projectors and retrofits, I have a 2001 prizm, and I am not messing with the stock lights. Would just putting the ONEX system in hurt people with glare and things?

I would be getting the 6000K ones.

Thank you
MFCC08

PS Thanks for responding to my other threads!!

1). Stay with halogens, they're safer for other drivers around you.

2). Yes. If you are considering HID lights, then get a proper OEM hid projector retrofit.

Get Halogen Infrared Reflecting (HIR) bulbs.

HIR bulbs work great in the stock housings. they really are brighter than standard halogens and something about their light really makes road signs just 'pop' out at you. thats one thing i miss about my old car.

I bought mine from an Ebay seller.

http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/hir_headlights/

and i'll be getting another set for my current car as the High beams. they're bright now, but they can be brighter.

Where would I get the OEM projector Retrofit?

My bulbs are H4s so this HIR wouldn't work for my car since they only make 9005 and 9006.

Right now I only see 9011 - I think by filing off some tabs they can then be made to fit 9005 and 9006.

You have to take the projectors from a car with factory HID lights and retrofit them into your housing. There will be some custom fabrication required.

The retrofitting is something I really don't have time for cause I am in college...good idea for the future though.

I was talking with a guy named Daniel Stern, who is basically an automotive light researcher, and he said to go with the Phillips Xtreme Power lights. I think that is going to be my move at this point. Thanks all! I hope to get some pics of my corolla and prizm up soon. My dad has the rolla and I have the prizm...it's a good relationship
