Slow acceleration after being parked for a while

So this has happened only about 3 or 4 times, but it is worrying me. Sometimes, after I have had my car parked and turned off for a while, I will start it up and attempt to drive away. When I press on the gas, the car will accelerate only a small amount and just rev alot. After i press on the gas about 3 more times, it finally gets up to normal acceleration. Do yall know what heck is the problem?v

By the way, it is an LE.

Could be not engaging in correct gear. Usually when your in Neutral or N is when that usually happens. Maybe something wrong with transmission?

does it do the same if you stay in park and let the engine warm up for a few minutes?

No, I have never noticed that. However I do feel that my rolla seems to feel a lot slower at times than others. Even after it has been warmed up.

At one point when my friend drove me in his stock 98, it felt faster than my 98 with a CAI.

Also, it seems that my car seems to hang when it shifts where as his seems more immediate.

Maybe I should get a transgo shift kit?

Well this problem normally never occurs so i woulnt know when to let it warm up and then try it, but the last time it happened, as i watched the engine get warmer, the acceleration kept improving.
