What's this part??

So I was looking closer at my engine because I noticed something pink leaking from the driver side of my engine bay and found this part not bolted down to anything. As you can see, there is an aftermarket intake on the car so I am thinking the previous owner needed to leave this part dangling in order to install it. Can anyone tell me what this is and where it is supposed to go? Also, can anyone tell me what might be leaking from the driver side of my engine bay? THANKS!!

thats your vapor VSV. or vacuum switching valve. you can leave it hanging just don't remove it or you'll get all kinds of CEL.

starting, no. running? very much so. and passing any E-checks you have. if you dont have that part your car WILL NOT PASS an emissions check. although removing it might create a big enough vacuum leak to prevent it from starting but thats only because it vents to the manifold.

PINK leaking substance from drivers side? Check for leaking engine coolant
if color is the same as liquid in the overflow container.

So I took a look at the coolant and it is a pink color. I am not sure where it is leaking from though. It is not coming from the radiator as it seems to be leaking from the rear of the engine. any ideas?

Have the leak checked out for possible worn/loose coolant hoses or metal expansion/freeze plug.
