Car will not start unless I press the gas?

So I originally thought this was a cold start issue, but it looks like anytime I do not drive the car for 12 hrs+ I have to press the gas peddle in order to start the car. The car does not even attempt to start unless I do this. Is this an easy fix?

my guess: get rid of the aftermarket intake and put the stock setup back on

a car will start based on the following criteria:
-spark
-adequate compression
-proper air/fuel ratio

unless something else is wrong with your car, the first two items should be in proper order. The air/fuel ratio (which is regulated by a computer and feedback sensors) could possibly be off because of your aftermarket intake setup

year make and model are very important if we're going to help you, the 98 maybe doesnt have a MAF. also good to tell us if you have a check engine light on.

No CEL. I did more research and it looks like I have a MAP instead of a MAF. Would this require a cleaning?

MAP sensors dont get gummed up, they're good, or they're not. really no in between. and if it were bad, you'd have a CEL on. i'd check to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak. and when was the last time that filter was cleaned? it sounds like a flooded or air starved engine, you may have an injector hung open, that might cause your problem without possibly throwing a code. i don't know what to tell you on that one because, unless you know what you're doing, this is going to be a fun game of "find the gremlin"
i would honestly recommend taking it into a REPUTABLE shop. (not midas or mineke [sp?] or sears) ask your friends and family in the area who they go to and how that places treated them
and your leak might be a freeze plug or, if your lucky a heater hose. your heater hose can be replaced with basic hand tools and a bit of patience. check all your coolant hoses, Upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses (there's 2) and your throttle body warming hose (most places call it the 'bypass hose'... don't ask me why) if those are all good than i got nothin but bad news for ya
