IAT question

a couple of weeks ago i posted about a p0110 for a IAT circuit 1. i was wondering if this would cause me to lose gas mileage my last few tanks have been horrible to say the least. also are all of toyota's IAT's the same? like can i pull one off a 5s camry/celica and hook it up to my car?

Most IAT work in a similar manner - but I doubt that they all have the same sensitively or range to be cross compatible. Basically a thermistor - it responses to temperature, as temps go up, resistance does down.

If you get a P0110 - the ECM adopts a failsafe mode and assumes the temperature to be 68 degrees F (20 C). That could hurt fuel economy, but shouldn't be more than 5%-10% as a ball park figure.

Was there any other CEL codes along with the P0110? If you get a bunch of them at once, could be a wiring problem to the ECM itself.

there weren't any other codes with the p0110. Idk since I got that cel I've lost about 100 miles on a tank of gas. I used to get 300 miles between full and 1/4 tank. Now if that's in that 5-10% range I'll live with it.

Loosing 100 miles a tank - that is a lot - that is getting close to 20%-25% there. Do you have MPG numbers for the last several tanks, i.e. record miles between tanks, fill tank till it clicks, repeat over several tanks?

Can't really ballpark from the marks on the fuel gauge - those can be off a good 50-100 miles between full and 1/4 tank.

Code keeps coming back or was it a one, couple time thing?

My last tank was 225miles. The one before (week of cel) was 210. The one before that 325 miles. And it's all highway. The CEL only came on once.
