1999 Corolla Fuel Injector

Hey everyone. GF has a 1999 Corolla. #3 fuel injector is bad (get CEL for #3 misfire). Where can I buy an inexpensive fuel injector? Is there any other Toyota's that has an interchangeable fuel injector (celica, matrix)?

I also get a code for the VSV. Also where can i get this part for cheap? I know there is two of them, i'm thinking of replacing the one next to the charcoal canister. Online dealers sell them for about $140-$160 i believe.

Are you positive it is a bad injector? How did you determine that? The #3 cylinder is closer to the driver's side of the car. The ones from a 7th gen Celica GT, 9th gen Corolla, and Matrix will work, as long as they are from a 1ZZ-FE engine. If it truely is a bad injector - I'd get all four of them replaced, only a matter of time before another could fail.

As for the VSV valve - online or salvage yard are your least expensive options. I believe that there are total of three for the Corolla - one for the vapor canister (pressure switching valve), one for the canister closed valve (runs infront of TB), and one for EVAP (connected to service port and runs behind the TB).

Plugs, wire, coil have been swapped/changed and still get #3 misfire. Searching several boards, it seems the 98/99 corolla's had a bad batch of fuel injectors. Yes, thats a good idea, change all 4. Thanks!

Okay, i'm looking on ebay and they list the 98-99 fuel injectors different from the 00+. Does anyone know the differences? And can I really interchange the 99 with the 00+???

They went with a new style injectors when they switched to the 1ZZ-FE with VVTi - they increased the number of "holes" to enhance the spray pattern . As fas as I've heard, they are interchangeable and I don't believe the injector spray pattern should hurt you in any way. But like they said, your mileage may vary.

you can check RockAuto.com for parts. I personally like them. Beats Autozone any day, anyways!
