Stock Prizm Mods

Hey All,

I want to modify my 2001 Prizm. I have the ability to the majority of the work with my dad, so equipment, minus welder and life, are pretty much good.

I think I want a N/A car. Not a fan of turbo oil, bearings and more maintenance. I have been looking up cams and crankshafts recently and wondering if anyone has done these mods? Performance gains?

One problem is that the car is automatic...tried getting a manual honda actually, but there was nothing out there. I don't have 1500 or time, going to school, to do the swap either. Would the auto be able to handle new cams/crank?

Last thing, any good Piggy Back systems for our cars?

Thanks!

you don't have $1500 or time, but you want to install a performance cam and a piggy back ems? both take time and money, a good set of cams will be $500-$700 and the piggyback ems probably around that range as well. so theres your $1500.

oh and you'll need more than JUST the cams, you'll also need valve springs and a buttload of special order shims from the dealership to install.

don't bother, wait and get a different car after school that takes to modifications more readily. if you couldnt find a 5spd honda then you werent looking hard enough or your budget was too low.
