Does anyone know if the exhaust wrap really works that it increases ur hp or is it fake?

I think some members of corollaland have said good things about it.

Im not able to try it, since id be afraid of overheating that area in the summer. Its usually upper 90's in S NJ, but we can have 100% humidity, which is the killer since the heat doesnt go anywhere.

I've heard that it will make ur exhaust rot or something like that and it doesnt work that people said its bad.

it does work, but if you have a mild steel, or aluminized steel exhaust it can cause rust faster due to it holding moisture. but it will decrease heat. i have a friend with a 93 altima with a ka-t. his downpipe is wrapped. he can go ream on it till the turbo glows, but the down pipe will be cool enough to touch with the header wrap on. its still warm, but it takes a minute before it gets too hot to hold on to. good stuff.

Only way to tell for sure is to dyno your car before and after installing it.

What kind of steel would be best...i mean can u just wrap the stock steel thats on the 2001 corolla already or does it has to be a good kind of steel?
