Hesitating to start

Yesterday after work I went to start my car in the parking lot and my car hesitated. For a couple of months my CEL has been on. After the hesitated start my CEL went away. What could have caused a CEL but also makes your car hesitate to start?

Your in NY right?

Im in south jersey, and its been low, mid 40's all week, so starting has been a little more hesitant than normal.

But if your getting a cel, could be a maf, or a leak after it. Find out what the CEL is.

No .. you're not understanding my situation. I previously had a CEL on. Now it is OFF. After the hesitating start the CEL went OFF not ON.

it must have fixed itself, congratulations...neglecting that check engine light for month after month has finally paid off!

Yes, it must have self corrected itself. I don't know what caused it or how it fixed.

Could be just coincidence - that after the engine hesitation just happened automagically fix the CEL.

What was the original CEL? You can still scan the ECM - it will have the last CEL as well and any new or pending CELs. Without finding out what the CEL(s) was up there, basically shooting in the dark.

Hesitation can come from a number of sources - everything from fouled plugs, to bad gas, to an ignition/electrical problem, to an induction/exhaust issue, etc.
