Question cuttin shifter

yeah I think about this for about 2-3 month , If we cut the rod that maintain the shift knob (about 2-3 inch + welding) .... would it be like short shifter ?


In theory it work in my head , what do you think?

it will be shorter in legth yes, but it wont be a true short shifter in its sense that you change the ratio of the throw.
