Need some advice

Hey all,

Just wondering about a couple things with my 1999 beige Corolla CE with 58000 miles.

So For the past couple of days, I had to travel on the thruway where the speed limit is 65. whenever I pass 60 mph, i seem to notice a constant vibrating steering wheel, not to crazy vibration but enough so that the steering wheel moves from side to side just a tad. I have been reading posts, where similar people had the vibration, one changed the struts and tires, and did the alignment took care of that. Another said it was their engine mounts which had to be changed. So i am kind of confused on what this problem is, so needed some possible explanations.

Just Some details:
1999 Beige Corolla CE 58000 miles,
Original Michelin MX4s with a decent penny (penny trick) of tire tread left.
The car was never run by speed demons, since our family loves the law, and doesnt do crazy starts or crazy stops, just plain and simple slow relaxed driving. We do the required maintenance and oil changes either less than or equal to 3000 miles

Then comes the next issue, is with the car itself, i understand a car with 58000 miles will sound different from a showroom car, since well its getting old, but i want all those trained ears to hear the engine at idle and park to see if something is off, cause to my big ears, i hear some weird noises. Maybe its just me but do your best.

Lastly the corolla seems to be taking a bit more time than usual when starting, i would say a couple more seconds. Is that normal.

Thanks for all the views and contributors

As far as taking longer to start, how long ago since you've replaced the battery? Battery replacement is recommended every 3 years, so that might do the trick. Plus it also depends on the climate, if it's getting cold in Omaha this time a year then it will take a bit longer to turn over, which is also based on the cold cranking amps rating of your battery.
