Is there any dried water marks anywhere around the door or the seat or something??? If so follow it.
You say that the carpet is only wet and not the seats or the door? Kind of strange. I am thinking there is something wrong on the bottom of the door like the water from the rain is coming into the bottom door instead of hitting the ground.

Yeah, hummerh2o is right, take a garden hose and spray the bottom portion of the passenger front and back and see if water gets in. If so, there you go, if not try the top portion of the doors and then the sides.

Make sure the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are not plugged with debris, clean out by poking w/a small screwdriver.

Where is pic number 1 taken? Looks like the driver side to me.

Pic 2 is kind of hard to see cause of the glare. (or is it just me) But its on the driver side, i do not think it will go all the away to the right side. And even so, there should be at least water marks. Did you try watering that area???

By any chance your corolla has a sunroof?
I want to say the problem is coming from the bottom or what cjcride said abt the holes bein plugged, but the first picture ruled that out.
