My observations with a CAI and SRI

Due to the change in seasons here in Chicago, I decided to go from my CAI to SRI.

With my scangauge I have noted the following observations. When running my CAI, my intake air temperatures where usually the same as the outside air temp or a couple degrees over.

Now with my SRI, I have noticed quite a bit of a change. At cruising speeds, my intake temperatures are about 3-5 degrees over outside air temperature. Also in city driving with stop and go traffic, I have seen my intake air temperature go up to almost 30 degrees above outside air temperature.

So all in all if you do a lot of highway driving, you will not notice much of a difference with a SRI than a CAI. However, as soon as I did the change I did notice the difference. To me it feels a lot less responsive.

Haven't tried it since I removed all the components and am not sure if I even have the components anymore.

However perhaps someone else with a scanguage may be able to let you know.

I have a K&N drop in.

Didnt improve horsepower at all, but did increase throttle response.

I went out and got a scan gauge. The thing is AWESOME.

The stock air intake Consistantly reads +2->4 degrees abouve outside temp at 40 mph, and 0-2 degrees at 60.

I merged your thread with this existing one because they are discussing the same topics.

Hope you find the answers to your questions.
