All you have to do is just find a cluster that has the tach. I have a Corolla S cluster for a 01-02.

If you used the one from 01-02 you would need to change some wires inside your vehicle since 98-00 doesn't have temperature sensors. 01-02 have the tach + temp sensor. I think my brother got this S cluster for 80? I haven't touched it since he gave it to me. If you want 80shipped.

I have a 99 and a temp sensor without rewiring. The difference has to do with the signal wiring or something. I picked up my cluster+tach for about $50 off ebay.

The answer is buried in some other thread floating around.

I have a 02 corolla CE base model also without the tach and i always wondered if i would also switch out for one with the tach. Is it just a simple switch between the one that has the tach? Also if i do get the tach im guessing it can only come from a corolla S but wouldnt the illumination be red colored as oppose to me green ones? What do i do about that?

- Thanks

No, you could use a tach/cluster from a 01-02 corolla. Regardless of model type. Yes the S models are red lettered as per the other models are green.

On my 00 Corolla CE I was able to get an LE cluster with temp readout. I was able to take out my original speedo section out and install it into the LEs cluster and keep my original odometer reading, It was simple to swap them.
