Oil light went on for a second

I was taking somewhat of a sharper turn at around 30mph in my 01' Rolla tonight and the red oil light went on for about quarter of a second... just long enough for me to realize it was the oil light.

I turned the car off and noticed she was pinging a little bit. Drove home about 20 minutes later and as I drove over a 2 or so inch bump in my driveway, it went on again for about the same length of time (quarter second). There was a little less pinging after turning the car off this second time, as I was very conservative during my drive home (went 30mph).

This is the first I've noticed this issue. I haven't changed the oil in about 2.5K miles. I'm currently waiting for the engine to cool off then I'll check the oil.

Also, the temperature gauge was about where it always is. Maybe 2/3rd of the way to the top. Completely normal.

Anyone familiar with this problem? I've heard of some 8th gen Rollas burning a lot of oil...

fill it, i had this happen to me in the winter. not fun to be stranded and then have to floor it in reverse over a snow bank with no oil because some bozo didnt see ur reverse light as u were trying to back into a space and u nearly get tboned as he misses ur hood by inches. And yes they do burn oil. I think i havto put in a quart every 4oo miles, but ive heard much worse cases than that, never drive with the oil light on, Im always prepared if it does with two quarts under my seat

How many miles do you have?

My temp gauge stays perfectly in the middle. It never rises above that.
I just got a scan gauge, which im going to do a write up on that soon) and the coolant temp is about 182 - 192 while driving.

On second thought, it's probably only about halfway up.

Anyway, 127K miles.
