Here is a link to a diagram of the tensioner area. I fixed one for my buddy just by replacing the o-ring. Typically just the o-ring goes bad.
The o-ring is about 5 bucks from the dealer. Some people replace the tensioner also, although its not neccesary unless the tensioner itself has failed. The tensioner is about 45 bucks from the dealer. Either way the tensioner has to be removed to service the o-ring. In my opinion if your car has high mileage it might be worth the 45 bucks for the piece of mind knowing that all of the parts are new. If you buy the tensioner it comes with an o-ring already on it.

alright cool.ill be buying the parts and how much do you think i shud pay someone to hook it up for me? because the dealer asked me 349.95$. and i shure not paying them to do it for me. and on a scale of 1-10 how bad is this problem because i have other things to fix in the car.like rear brakes, new engine belt, tune up and i got a code saying my car running lean. so i wanna know how bad is this issue so i cud set my priorities.thank you very much
