motor wont shut off

I have a 98 corolla and the motor will not stop when i take the key out everything else stops. The fans stop everything in the car but the engine is still going. the only way to stop the motor is to pull the EFI relay in the fuse box to get it to stop. that will shut the fuel injectors off and stop the motor but then if i restart ill have to pull again. I tried a new EFI Relay and that didnt work same thing. Just want some help trying to figure it out. I searched around and found no information about it.

That is pretty unusual, first time I've heard of that from a Corolla. First thing that pops to mind is a faulty ignition switch. If you have a multimeter handy (remove negative battery terminal first) - probe the ignition switch plug in all the positions (OFF/LOCK, ACC, RUN, START) - in the off position, none of the pins should have continuity, from your description - some of the pins are still passing power when they should not (i.e., a short somewhere).

Yeah with that case, I can see from a Seafoam treatment, you can get the car to run for some time via dieseling - but eventually the car will shut off. But from the OP seems to say that the car runs normally, until you pop the EFI relay - unless I read too much into the topic.
