Coolant leak.

Ok So ive got a 99 Corolla, 123,000 miles and burns oil. I use a Mobil 1 synthetic with Mobil 1 filter and am 200 miles away from my 6000 mile oil change mark. Just got back from a 90 mile trip and 1/2 a mile from my house I see the engine temp going up so I drive carefully to my house and it was red by that time. so now I park and shut off the car then open the hood and I see coolant on the floor. I am not a mechanically inclined person so any suggestions as to why this happened?

Any help is appreciated,
Vik

you ran it low on coolant and overheated it, the coolant is leaking from somewhere, find where its leaking and repair it before driving it anymore.

It never leaked before. I checked the driveway I parked there this morning. I usually warm up the car for 10 mins or so before I leave and the LEAK is HUGE because I saw alot of coolant leaking out at once. Could this be something big? or just a ruptured hose? and Could I have damaged the engine?

Ok one more ?. Could it be my fan is not working because I added water and noticed that when I ran the car it no longer overheated but the fan was not running. So could it have been that the fan did not run which caused the coolant to boil over which caused the coolant to boil and come out of a possible relif valve? Does the corolla have a valve to reduce the pressure?

And anyone know where the fuse for the fan is IF there is one. It doesnt seem to run but if I give it 12 from the battery it runs.... Im guessing maybe a relay or a fuse that has gone bad and want to check
