2001 Corolla Rear Speaker Removal

How do i go about removing the stock rear speakers? Thanks!

search the forums dude. I did a search the other day for speakers and one guy had pictures of his ENTIRE installation.

you'd be surprised what a little effort can produce.

Need to pull up the rear parcel shelf first to get at the wiring and expose the top of the speakers/mounts.

Easiest way to do that is to pull off the rear seat (if you do not have a folding rear seatback) or fold the seats down and pry up the parcel shelf (remove 3rd brake light first).

On mine (2002 S), I had to remove the 3rd brake light assembly (just pulls back and up to release), remove the three LATCH points on the parcel shelf, pull the rear seatback (have to remove the bottom cushion first - pull front edge upward to release clips, remove bottom cushion from car - unbolt the rear seatback, and remove from car, parcel shelf will be free, wiggle it out and you'll have everything there to disconnect/unscrew.

or we could just spoon feed him. that works too.
