Koni Yellow Install

Hey guys,

So Im def going with the Koni Yellow/Ground Control setting for my car. Was looking at some Tokico Blues, but have decided against it...

My question for you guys is how do you install them? I have been reading around that we have to cut up the OEM shock...? Has anybody done this, and secondly if you have pics you can def email me them, or post them.

I am hesitant upon reading this, that it could be a hack job, so to speak. Ill def put on Tokico blues on if it is difficult.

Got a winter break coming up!!!

Definitely, some work involved with that. Not for a Corolla, but something along this line:

http://www.turbomr2.com/MR2/HowTo/Su...ingStrut-1.HTM

This assumes OEM strut body is in good shape for modification. If there is excessive corrosion or the strut body is otherwise in bad shape - this is a nonstarter. I've entertained this same idea myself, but opted to do it right and go with a full coilover setup, when I get a chance to work on the car.

Thanks Fish! Yeah I don't know if I want to cut up a good strut...

You said you'd replace it with a full coil over setup, what product(s) are you looking at?

I was looking at the JIC FLT-TAR or Cusco ZERO-2 - some of the best rated coilover out there. Retail varies wildly, I've seen them priced in excess of $3K or as low as $1500, then you have to generally wait for them to ship in.

Tein Flex was another one on my list. Not as "good" as the others, but price-wise it is pretty attractive and service is rep'd to be very good (handling in the US).

Putting it off until I get enough time to put work into the car, no sense doing it 1/2 right - since it will be a project car, there is no real time pressure to get it done.

This is actually really interesting, because i had been searching for a new suspension and have looked at getting coil overs too.

When I checked out the Cusco website they only had the coil overs for the Supra and MR2, do the MR2 ones fit the corolla?
