code reader

I'm looking for a code reader that will work well with my 8th generation Corolla.

Does it make any difference that my Corolla was built in Canada? I live in Canada so future Corollas will probably be built here also.

Pretty much any of the current OBD-II ones will work with the Corolla. Make sure that it specifically states that OBD-II and ISO protocol. Most of the newer ones support the CAN protocol, which is being used by many manufacturers.

I have a scan gauge II, which works great as a code reader. It even tells you what your car was doing when you got the code. (RPM's, tps, Air intake temp, coolant temp, mph, etc)

It also gives you the same information in real time, Which is pretty fun to play around with.
